About Us

Urbanette Designs is a design and manufacturing startup based near Detroit, Michigan. We make distinctive, city-themed decor that combines architecture, art, and modern design to tell a story and create spaces people love.

Our Story

Our company was founded in late 2023 with a mission to create beautiful miniature cities and share them with lovers of cities, maps, and art around the world. 

Utilizing our backgrounds in 3D modeling and information science, our team began combining and processing data from geographic and city databases to create our first prototypes. With a few prototypes in hand, we headed to Kickstarter to raise money and turn this idea into a real company, launching in April 2024. The campaign was a tremendous success; our backers helped us raise over 5x our funding goal and we were awarded Kickstarter's Projects We Love badge. With that, we got to work.

Over the next few months, the two of us iterated over dozens of prototypes and spent thousands of hours 3D modeling to bring our cities to the next level. While big datasets got us part of the way, our goal was to create the most accurate and beautiful miniature cities ever brought to market.

With our cities complete and Kickstarter orders fulfilled by fall 2025, we have now made our cities available to all!
